Power Of 3

When I was in the midst of deep grief I read this good suggestion somewhere.  Before drifting off to sleep think of 3 positive things that happened to you today.  The result:  1) I saw a cardinal at the bird feeder.  Brilliant red against winter’s grey backdrop.  Glorious!  2) I ran into a friend who hugged me.  Having lost my spouse, I was desperate for physical contact and that warm embrace was exactly what I needed.  3) A complete stranger gave me a magnificent smile.  And because I focused on the smile, when that person said, “Have a good day,” my grieving mind did not jump to this standard, negative, self-fulfilling prophecy response: It’s not likely.

Googling “3 Miracles a Day” today, a post came up from Danielle Palli.  “A wise friend of mine told me that if you write down 3 ‘miracles’ that you observe every day for an entire month, you will see the miracles getting bigger and bigger as you attract positive energy toward you.”

Why not try it?

What is a “miracle” anyway?  Blogger Jodee Bock says this:  “A miracle is simply a shift in perception from fear to love.”

Jon Bon Jovi uses the word “perception” in his definition as well.  “Miracles happen every day, change your perception of what a miracle is and you’ll see them all around you.”

Combining the magic of miracles with the magic of the number 3 is . . . well . . . quite magical.

3 is the number of dimensions humans can perceive

There is the mind, body and spirit.

There is the past, present and future.

There is the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost.

Did you know Christ died at 3 p.m.?

Did you know I’ve talked to many people who’ve recently lost someone close to them and they tell me they wake up, consistently, at 3 a.m.?

Macleans did an article about what “now” is, and it was defined as 3 seconds.

Historians of numbers note a 3-patterned concept in ancient peoples of “1, 2, many” to describe counting limits.

So, if 3 is “many” and “miracles” are a matter of perception, the next 30 days has tremendous abundance for you.
